long thread title huh. i tried the search and i cant find the thread, anyone got the link? the one with the spark plug arrestor trick to not trigger the cel.

This is the fix I've used for about 6,000 miles. CEL has come on 2x. WOT 4th(1x) and 5th(1x) gear runs. Fault code can be cleared manually with vagcom or will go away on its own after awhile, either way it doesn't put you into limp or otherwise affect performance.

I used 2 pieces. with the top one drilled out.

awesome! thanks guys. i have an aeb so i cant go limp:thumbup: i almost dont care about the cel, but it'll be easier to pass inspection this way. cant pass inspection in MA with a cel on, although i can get around it if i have another 98 passat to test:hmmm:
