I have a 1999 Passat and I want to hardwire my new valentine one radar detector. It came with a hardwire kit that has a inline fuse in it. They recommend tapping into a wire to get the power but I'm use to going directly to the fuse box. I long time ago I had my Escort Passsport 8500 wired to the fuse box by putting a male tab-like conncetor on the end of the positive then putting it into a open fuse slot. It worked well but I just want to know how to do it for the V1 since I forgot what fuse slot to use and all the other details needed. Please Help!!

Check the fuse panel, it should be listed...look for the rear wiper fuse if you have a sedan.

Yep, I believe I have mine simply wrapped around the tab of a generic 5A fuse...been using it for 9+ years. You'll also need to run a ground wire, which can screw down under any of the 10mm(?) bolts in the fuse panel.
