help, air conditioning won't work

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh. I was driving my 99 passat today and noticed my Air Conditioning wouldn't work when i turned it on. I then checked my heating and i twouldn't work either. There are a couple reasons i can trace it back to but nothing concrete. First, i just installed components in the front and back of my car. I don't think there is any way that i could have done anything to the AC but you never know. It was my first time installing and it went pretty smoothly, but maybe ther was something i could have done. The other idea is my check engine light came on about 2 days before i installed my speakers. I don't remember if the AC worked after it came on or not. Could there be a link between either of these at all? helpppppppppppppppp.

First of all check fuse and relay of A/C system. If you say that system is not making neither hot neither cold air, probably can be electric problem related to some fuse or relay. Regarding relay you need to check does it switch when you start A/C and try to swap it for other relay you have in box. Can be that you have same relay both for A/C and sound system,etc. Best thing is to run Vag-Com from someone in your area.
