Hello-my passat EPC light is on, and the car keeps cutting off. When I try to restart it, it sounds as if it's going to turn over then wont. So I wait for a few seconds then try it again, then it starts. The check engine light came on, and I know now, that I also need a 02 sensor. Just about 3-weeks ago, I had (one) coil replaced, which they said was bad. I really need help here.

I was also told my Cadillac Converter may be bad; but will that cause the car to shut off??

I have an 04 with no Cat Converter, It doesn't shut off.. Just starts rough...

a bad CAT wont make your car shut off. your EPC light or electronic pedal control is most likely the cause. you have to get the codes scanned to see what the actual problem is. you can get your ca sscanned at an advanced auto or an auto zone for free. do you have any modifications done to your car? i know when one of my intercooler pipes fell off my car wouldnt go past 5 mph without dieing.
