Yeah its a silver box under the the passenger carpeting. you have to take off the kick panel and then pull up the siding along with the carpet. you'll then see a box there. that would be the tip ecu

well thats how it is for my 00 1.8
there is noithing un the carpet? noithing but floor... any one have a pic of a trans ecu?

Actually, you should ask about what engine oil to use...lol! Though some replies say "use the search", there are still those willing to chime in again.
Maybe you should change your Subject Line to something more specific than HELLLLLLLPPPPPP. That way people browsing the forum can easily see what you need help with.

I don't want to steer you away from Club B5, but I did see these pictures on VW Vortex about a week ago. i just can't remember what Forum I was in. But someone on VW Vortex definitely has pictures posted of the Engine and the Tranny ECU Chips. Maybe check there...

Jimmy :)
OK, calm down, take a deep breath and read again.

still cant find it, and i did have my subject other then helllllllllppppp jimmy, it was called Wheres my trans ECU then i changed it to TRANS ECU then HELLLLPPPPP  but anyways im sending my engin ECU out today with out the tip ill do that tip thing latter :( any one have a pic of it ? please? and i did use search no luck
If you read your own post you will realize that you already found it. You clearly stated that you found a silver box under the carpeting, several members have already told you that THAT IS THE TRANSMISSION ECU. If you read, you will learn, posting the exact same question 12 times after already getting answers from several people is not going to solve anything.
No i did not find it, the silver box was not under the carpet (and if you read my post you will see that i did not say it was under the carpet) i said (i was told it was on the passenger side under the carpeting in the front, but cant see it?) then i went on to say (i see a silver box but dont want to unplug it couse it might be my air bags?) and it was not found under the carpet.. the silver box was behind the glove box and what looks to me to be attached to the air bag system so this is why im asking for pics and more better conformation on the silver box :D but thanks vwpassatglx155 for your responce..

cool thanks for that responce. i take it that you got a giac chip? how many more hp did you get and can you really notice it ?
i sent it out today to be chipped but have to wait on the trans ecu as you can see  but oh well ... you think that without my trans chip i will still notice a change? and if and when i do chip the trans ecu will it help the eng ecu ? thnaks again
On my '02 it literally was the "floor" right in front of the passenger seat. It is very difficult to get to by wedging your arm under the carpet but that is really where it is. I have no idea if it is different for your model year though. Sorry, but I don't have any pics to share :(

EDIT: Here is the TCU removal instructions directly off of the giac site. Hope this helps......

thanks im going to go look now  please let it be on the floor under the carpet... not a good place to put such a thing thou... thats if it is on the floor under the carpet  thanks
First off, your post was very confusing to begin with, so it is kind of hard for us to offer any help. Second, a tiptronic chip doesn't change anything in relation to the engine. Your car will not be faster, it will have no more HP. The only thing a tiptronic chip does is make your car SHIFT faster.

my post confused you?

read it slow

You stated in your original post that you found a silver box (offering no indication of where) as several of us have posted that it is a silver box... I assumed you had found it. Hence why it is confusing.
