2001 Passat V6 GLX

I'm assuming I have heated mirrors because they are warm to the touch when the car is running.

Questions I have is;

How do I turn them on and off?

When I shut the car off are you supposed to hear a sort of buzzing sound coming from them (I have to have my ear very close to the mirror to actually hear the noise). The buzzing stops when the interior lights turn off.

Turn the switch from the middle position (from the 'defrost' icon, to either L or R.)

Not sure if you should be able to hear anything from them - never tried it.

Run the heat to the mirrors in the summertime accidentally, and you're likely to have your glass fall out. Ask me how I know about that!
