On my 2000 GLS the heated mirrors have never worked in the four years I've owned it. Is it as simple as replacing a fuse? Should a light come on when the heater is activated by centering the mirror adjuster knob and pushing it aft? Beyond feeling the mirror, how do you know it's on?

your heated mirrors are activated by pressing the rear windshield defogger button while your mirror switch is centered on the heat option.

Just to throw this out there, my dealer and I were both surprised to find my 2000 GLS did not have heated mirrors. No heater element in the glass, no wiring to connect to - though it had the heat position on the switch. Built on a Friday, I assume. Before you go too crazy, you might want to pop off one of the mirror glasses (it's easy) and check.
