Just returned from from a local Big Lots with several quarts. Just wanted to pass this along in case anyone else could benefit. Looked like they had at least 20 more quarts on the shelf...

Are you sure yours are not semi-sythetic? $1.99 for synthetic is a dang good deal. What requirements does it meet on the label? I want to compare with Mobil 1. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for posting this. I just cleaned out my local Big Lots, got all seven quarts. They had a bunch of 10w-30, but only the seven 5W-40. I'm considering hitting the Big Lots across town tomorrow!!

Oops, these are Havoline and NOT Valvoline SynPower. I knew it was too good to be true.

It IS true. Nobody said it was Valvoline!! :)

I'm just glad to actually find a synthetic that has the VW approvals that I can buy locally...even if it is a one shot deal. And $1.99 a quart is nothing to sneeze at!!

Good find at a great price! If I found it locally, I'd consider using it. Got the right approvals...what more do you need?

Thanks for the heads up! :bow:

I now have enough for 10 oil changes (I cleaned out all the Indianapolis Big Lots stores).

Havoline --> AP1 SL/SJ/SH

Mobil 1 5W30 --> ILSAC GF-3, API SL/SJ/CF. ACEA A1/AB1/A5/B5-02, GM 4718M

I have been using Mobil 1 every 5000 miles since my first oil change by the dealer @7000 miles. My engine still pull very strong at 63000 miles.
