Well, just sold the 2001.5 variant and bought a '10 sedan. I'm looking to hardwire a V1. I've used an add-a-circuit on other cars, but the V1 comes with a wire tap. I searched for a DIY, but didn't find one. Does anyone have suggestions, or better yet, a comprehensive DIY for this install? Thanks.

While i did this on my b5.5, i think there are normal tap procedures that apply. use the search feature to find what the bolt name is to tap into. Anyways:

Take your power cable that goes to the radar and connect the + lead of the wire to the 75x bolt under your dash (right above the "dead pedal" at your feet, just remove lower dash) or you can take the 12v car power adapter and cut it off and use the +/-

then take your - lead and ground it to a bolt near/around your fuse box and your good to go. Just route the wire between the windshield and the dash and your set.

get an in wire fuse and go to the 75x post as mentioned above
