I need help fixing what started out as a hairline fracture just beneath the dash on the passenger side where the chrome strip would be in a W8. The crack has gotten a bit wider and longer and there is another one joining the original. What can I use to stop it from getting worse and not make it so noticeable?

how old is your car?...Still under warranty? If you can find a trusted vw dealership .. I'd have them replace the dash if this crack is a defect..

That's funny..did I punch it.... :lol:. Nah I didn''t. The car was bought brand new in August 2001 (its a 01.5)...and the crack has been around for at least a year. At first I thought it was actually a piece of my wife's hair but when I went to remove it....found out it was indeed a thin crack. Would this item be considered under the powertrain warranty? I don't want to take it back to the dealer who replced my engine last month...dont want to deal with them anymore. Should I call VWoA?
