I don't remember ever seeing this but does the GLX come with the same 24V VR6 engine as the Jettas and GTIs? If so is it configured differently like the 1.8T is the longatudinal in our Passats?

No.

The Passat uses a totally different 2.8 V-6 that has nothing to do with any VR6. The engine is longitudinal in the Passats just like the 1.8t.

The 2.8 in the Passat is just the old Audi 3.7 V-8 (which is the basis of the 4.2) with 2 missing cylinders.

Thanks, wanted to see if a bi-turbo setup was possible as is with the VR6. I'm sure it is, just more $ since it's not the same.

Someone did put a Bi-turbo kit on his 2.8. . . . he did it all himself.. Immaculate. and The 2.8's are also 30 valves.

well Texas Bob from Palms, CA....
there's a man in Houston TX named Mike Staley that recently did a bi-turbo setup on a passat using the stock 2.8 V6-- using a couple of K03's out of a Stg3'd S4. I have no idea how much money Mike spent on it (he's a mech. and Houston's APR dealer) but he said it's a lot of $ but well worth it.
