I have an issue on the Audi 80 1.9tdi.

In the morning it's difficult to start up, so I took the glow plugs out and they were all burnt.

I put in some new glow plugs but I noticed that there was no current in the wires (when I turn the key on).

The fuses are all good, I'm thinking it could be a problem with a relay or sensor.

When I turn the key the glow plug light in the dash should stay on for a few seconds but it turns off immediately.

Anyone have any tips to solve this before I take the car to an electrician?

Actually there was no electrical problem. I tested it in the morning and it was alll working.
It seems that when the engine is warm the sensor dosen't even send power to the glow plugs.
Also the dash light will stay on for about 2 seconds but in reality you have to wait 6 to 7 seconds for the glow plugs to heat and turn off automatically.

Coolant temperature sensor, right? Why don't you try to disconnect wires to it when engine is worm and check if glow plug light will stay on for longer?
