So I plan to Auto Cross my Passat in 2013. I want to race in G Stock.
The Passat is a 1999 AEB 1.8t FWD manual
I found a simple break down of mod by class. (I know this is not the rule book)
Comparison of permitted modifications in SCCA classes
Here is the plan.

1. N75j Valve
2. 710n Diverter Valve
3. Rebuild front suspension (S4 control arms/bilstein shocks all around)
4. Silicone Hose kit. (could I include this? Samco Induction Hose 1pc VW Passat 1.8T B5 AEB/ATW US Spec)
5. Cat Back Exhaust
6. Tires (not sure yet, have stock 16" aluminum wheels)

Would this be a good recipe for stock performance?
Would this list of Mods keep me in G Stock?

All advise and criticism accepted. Thanks.

I'd look into a set of 1BE springs as they are from VW and were part of a package (in Europe).

I'd run GS. The 710n is the only valve VW offers anymore, so that's legal. Replacement shocks and cat back are legal. Silicone hose replacement is legal. I think the intake hose is kind of a gray area, but it is a silicon hose. N75j and S4 control arms are illegal, but the performance advantage is so small I would not worry about it. Moving to a prepared class over those items is overkill. If you are just getting started in autox start with a good street tire. To be competitive you will likely need real race tires, they will be faster and hide a lot of driving mistakes.
