hey guys, i have a 1998 passat and the last two times i've washed my car, the whole driver's side gets wet. well not the whole side, just the carpet floor. for some reason the left inside of the car gets moists and i was wondering if anyone's experienced this before and knows how to fix it. its not my windows, they were all up, plus it wouldve gone everywhere.

Do try the search forum, but the possibilities are:
Debris in one (or more) of the four sunroof drains
Water coming in under the firewall, or pollen filter (usually soaks passenger side though)
The drain for the a/c condensor and/or under battery, or cable to unlock the hood.
My guess would be that it is the front sunroof drain on the drivers side.
Is the headliner and "A" pillar trim cover wet as well?
Anyhow, it's bad pookie - there is the CCM (convenience control module) under the carpet of the drivers side - it does nice things like locks, a/c, windows, etc.
On the passenger side, under the carpet on the floor is the TCM (Tiptronic control module - if you have an auto transmission).
Find the source of the leak(s), fix them, thoroughly dry everything out, and checks wires for corrosion - it may take a while to start having "wierd" electrical problems.
