This forum has been a blessing so far and has helped with a few of my issues so far.

While me and my father were putting in new headlights on the car , we noticed 2 cut wires that seemed to be connected to something under neath the power steering fluid reservoir (I think that is what it is at least). Not sure if it is a problem or not, just curious and want to get more accustomed with what the parts and such are.

Here are a few pictures.

Also, I have a rare issue when starting the car. I get the dreaded STOP Brake Fault error "blah blah blah" (I'm going to try and diagnose the issue next week thanks to reading some of the previous threads) but at times the display which shows the message will completely turn bright Red, at an angle I can see and read the text though. Also, at the same time the temperature display flashes something like 8888 + random temperatures on the display. It goes away after a few seconds or if I shut the car off and turn it back on right away.

Issue #2 might be an ABS electronics unit on it's way out. Ideally you'll need to see if you're getting communication errors with the VAG-COM port and possible error codes with the ABS module. Loads of threads about the ABS issue and how to (cheaply) get it fixed - like maybe $200-300 if you do the removal/reinstall yourself. It's not hard to do.

Your problem with the Climatronic might be that it is trying to display a fault code or it have lost all it power for too long to and needs to be reset.

Yeah I did unplug the battery for about a week while trying to diagnose a faulty battery. That's also when I noticed the display behind the steering wheel turning red swell. Could that also be connected to unplugging the battery?
