I picked up my first VW November 2, and shortly after stumbled upon PW while looking for info on my B5 multiple times. I finally decided to join tonight since I have plans and want to share my new baby's progression :p

Attached are a couple pics of her from today. I haven't done much to her other than a good wash and hand wax. Sorry about the reflection... I've realized that there's no good angle during the day that will reduce the sky's reflection :lol:

Tomorrow, I'll be installing a K&N 57i Air Intake kit (as long as it gets delivered to my local Advance Auto). Beyond that, I have -some- ideas about what I want to do, but I might end up having to hold off until Spring  Northeastern winters are no joke, and I don't wanna wreck my B5! Here's the list of (possible) future mods:

EBC Sport Rotors w/Red Stuff pads (I drive way too fast for OEM)
Debadged mesh grille
Debadged trunk
R8 style projector headlights w/LED strip
Lower-bumper mounted driving/fog lights
Gold mesh 18" wheels (still shopping for these - any suggestions appreciated)
Koni adjustable dampers w/Eibach coilovers
Thule ski/snowboard rack
Magnaflow 40 series muffler
Maybe even a turbo setup?

Congrats on the buy; it's the twin to mine; but for some reason yours looks lower than mine does.. :p lol

So you're going with the blue 'n gold?
I'm going with the blue 'n grey-scale. lol (I would say black, but the wheels I have chosen are a mid-tone grey)
I would have gone with something darker on the wheels, but since the EBC rotors are going to be anodized with a gold color, I figured I may as well match the wheels to it, and do the calipers in red to match the blue/red instrumentation inside. EDIT: Thinking about it, I may just try and get the calipers to match the blue paint. The red may be overdoing it.
Red is so common too, and blue doesn't AS easily show dirt :D

I figured you might be going with the classic subaru look, lol.

haha, it's funny but I thought about that when I considered the gold, and I always thought it looked good on the Boobashoes, so it should look ok on my Passat. The dampers, springs, and wheels are going to be my first Spring project for sure, though.
no pun intended, eh? lol

Sounds like a complicated one. Something I probably couldn't do without the help of the boyfriend. Plus, he doesn't want it lower, cause he's tall. LOL
TBH, my B5 is the first vehicle I'll be doing the suspension on myself. I had a Toyota Tacoma prior to the B5, and I did rotors, brakes, wheels, custom turbo, camshaft and headers by myself. Most of the work was surprisingly easy, but it was only a 4 banger with very few electronic components. When I go under the hood of my B5, I'm afraid that I might damage electronics if I remove the wrong bolt from something. It should be straightforward by following the instructions, but I'm going to have my mechanic friend walk me through it just in case :wrench: I'm definitely looking forward to showing the pics as I get things checked off my list :D
congrats, keep an eye out for me in the summer..I am at the walmart in e stroud a lot lol

Sweet deal! I always wondered how some of the older vehicles on the road kept their lowers dark and nicely conditioned... Thanks for the link!
Awesome.. thanks Scott. I will also use that stuff on mine.
Nice ride; I live up by Lake Wallenpaupack so not too far from you. If you ever need help with anything, I'm not far. There are weekly meets of VW in general(during the warmer months) by the Long Horn Steakhouse off of Route 80- Exit 302A.

Awesome! I knew there were alot of guys here in the Northeast, but I didn't think there would be any meets 10 mins from my house, haha. You can count on me being there as often as I can.

Also, do you know of any good custom body shops in the area? All the ones I've found have 5 or less years business experience and I don't know anyone in them, so references would definitely help me out a ton. I would eventually like to drop a body kit on my B5, but without seeing some work from the local shops and having solid references, I won't even consider doing the work locally.
