I want to upgrade my headunit to something with a lot more sound control.

I currently have a JVC KD-SH9700. It has 7 band EQ and DSP. The internal amp is off and I have a JL e4300 and JL 250/1 connected to it, powering Alpine Type R components up front and Alpine Type S coaxials for rear fill. I have a JL 12W3 in their High Output box for a sub.

I was planning on going with an Alpine headunit because it seems to be the best headunit, good clarity and sound control, but non of their current offerings have all the features I want. The closest one is the CDA-9857, but I wanted higher pre-amp out voltage. Their DVD headunits have one-line displays, I guess they rely on an external monitor.

Anybody have either:
the Pioneer DEH-9800BT/ Premier DEH 980BT http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/p....html?compName=PNA_V3_ProductDetailsComponent or
JVC KD-SHX850/KD-AR8500.
http://mobile.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027433&pathId=130&page=2
Both have time alignment, multiband EQs, 5V preamps, color OEL displays.
I guess the Pioneer has more features: Bluetooth & auto EQ.
Anybody have experiences with these headunits or have other suggestions.
Should I save up more and get a indash DVD/Nav system?

I just installed the DEH-980BT this past weekend and I'm loving it so far. I haven't been able to do the auto EQ or auto time alignment since the rear speakers aren't working. I haven't looked into why they aren't working since I only want the fronts anyway. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is how far it sticks out, but I guess any HU that has a flip down or motorized face sticks out a bit. I'll get some pix soon.
