I have 2002 Passatt Estate / Tourer. The luggage comparment light bulb has blown (the one that sits in the roof lining above the luggage compartment).

I just can't get the thing out of the roof lining to change the bulb. It seems like the whole light unit slides sideways against a hard spring, and one side pulls out of the roof lining slightly, but I can't get the light completely out to give access to the bulb.

Anyone with any tips or quidelines to help me change this bulb would be grateully recieved.

Well, if its like the rear interior ones, its pretty easy.
You have to push it the one way it will slide a little, and stick a flathead screwdriver into the other side, where I believe is a metal pin that will release the entire housing. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky though.
