Hi,
Im in the place where I need to do an engine swap (a piston wanted a date with the block :>)

Now to my questions ...

Does someone know what tools are needed? I got most of the things I can think of, but since im gonna take the engine out from a self serve scrap yard I would really like to know if I need to buy something extra (like some huge torx for the tranny etc)
Did a quick look in Elsa Win but couldn't find anything related to the tools needed or used.

The next one, how hard am I making it for myself to take the engine up insted of down (would be near to imposible at the scrap yard) ...

The last one and probbly the easiest one, what other models uses that engine (CDGA?) except the passat?

Almost all VW group unibody vehicles (built since 1985) will allow removal of the front lock carrier, and bumper so the engine can move forward instead of strictly upwards...besides those chaps at the breakers were probably going to sell the entire front clip (bumper cover, bumper, lock carrier, fenders, etc.) any ways...so have a salvage yard employee assist you with the job.

Thanks for the respons, I tried to serach abit about it and it seems pretty cool, but you risk messing up the alignment of the hood etc
So to avoid having to make the special tool / buying it, is it posible to get it out and in without moving it out?
