Just thought I'd run this one past you all to see what responses I'd get. When my '00 ATW is warm (even just a little) I seem to get a bit of a rattle in that 1/2 second between cranking and going to idle. Sounds just like it Dieseling to a stop, only in reverse.

Any ideas what this could be and how to best deal with it?

my vote would be the cam chain tensioner is heading south.

I don't think it's that sort of rattle. Sounds like it's coming from inside the engine, and only when warm. The rest of the time, it's fairly quiet. I'll check out the tensioner, though.
