How do I use my vag-com to switch an ecu. I have a 1.8t with tip and would like to put in a chipped ecu that came out of a 1.8t with a manual. What steps do I need to do to reprogram the ecu to run off the ecu.

Thanks

Hook up the Vag-com with your current ECU in the car. Choose the engine control module and write down the coding for it. Install the new ECU, hook up the Vag-com and code it so it has the same code as your original ECU. The next to last digit should be 0 for a 5 speed or 5 for a Tiptronic. After coding the ECU you should do the TB adaption as outlined on the Ross tech site. A good investment would be the Bentley manual, it has all the coding and diagnostic procedures.
