My father in law has been looking to purchase an older corvette for a long time and he has been searching e-bay for a deal lately. Well, a few days ago he found one that was too good to be true. An almost mint condition red 68 corvette, I think. The buy it now price was $7000, but there was a message that the buyer had to be pre approved. I told him to send the seller an e-mail to ask about the pre approval and only go through pay pal. The next day, he received an e-mail back to his e-mail address and not his e-bay account. It stated that the car was in Germany and that they had to get rid of it and they would ship it for free. We asked for more pictures and a picture of the title and VIN. Both were supplied, only the VIN does not show up in the state the seller says that it was registered. Then an e-bay customer service rep e-mails back to give specific directions to pay, which only included a direct wire transfer to an account in the Netherlands and to a name not on anything else. The seller claims that there paypal account wqas locked and that could not be used. The e-mail address of the seller is [email protected] and we have sent all communications to the fraud department of e-bay and waiting to hear back. We are also telling the seller that we are out traveling on work right now to see if we can get more info. My father in law sent them an e-mail telling them that we had friends in Germany and we were excited about having them get some pictures for us. They e-mailed back saying that it was already boxed up for us at the shipping company and that they needed the money ASAP since it was boxed up. What a load of sh$t. I can't believe these people and their auction has magically disapeared as well. If you have a site to sign this e-mail address up for porn or anything else, please do. [email protected]
Thanks for letting me vent,

Ebay needs to do something more than they are cause like aliencds said they are taking over Ebay. Its getting harder and harder to tell. I get those stupid paypal spoofs in my email all the time, I hate them, please verify your paypal account.

I know what you all mean, I hate those damn scammers!!

Anyway, I work for the account billing department at PayPal and I got bad news, guys. Unfortunately we recently had a security breach. Thankfully our information security department was able to detect this intrusion on time and they prevented any private information from being stolen. That's the good news.

The bad news is that in order for users to regain access to their PayPal accounts, they have to verify their credentials to the account billing department. Normally this process takes a few days, but I can help you guys get it done faster if you just e-mail me your paypal account information. DON'T try to login using www.paypal.com because the hackers left some nasty viruses and stuff on the webpage, so don't risk it!

NEVER buy anything from out of the country. 99 percent of them are scams. There is tons of scams for automobiles and motorcycles. Its the same with all of them, they will post that its in the U.S. then say its in England and that they need a wire transfer or a money order. they will always say "FREE SHIPPING!" its all a load of shit. they've tried to pull it on me so many times but obviously have never succeeded. those bastards...

o, they might say that they dont want to go through paypal because of fees but that they will use an escrow company to take care of security. never let them choose the escrow company! research yourself a true real U.S.A. escrow company.
