My story is much lower key than Brian's, but here it is:

When it became clear that our identical twin daughters (now nearly 8 8) ) would be born prematurely, and that we should expect that they might be in intensive care for several weeks or more, we were told about a local Ronald McDonald house. The pregnancy/birth wound up being much ado about nothing - they were born and remain completely healthy - so we never did use their services. Nonetheless, the peace of mind we got simply knowing there was one fewer thing we might need to worry about was priceless. To this day, I put change/bills in their coffers whenever I get a Happy Meal. They gave us something wonderful just by being there.

Donation sent.

Another  to Ronald McDonald House. they housed the parents/family of my best friend about 10 years ago when she was getting scoliosis surgery (inserting Titanium rod in her back) and throughout the recovery.

i'm soliciting donations from coworkers/friends/family and will send what i collect. also, i'll send another donation as soon as i get some money transferred to my account that is verified through PP. Thanks again for doing this. :)

That's quite teh itinerary. I drove through that construction to barstow last summer and it SUCKED. Was so so so so so slow. It was like driving in rush hour, I don't think I ever went faster than maybe 45.

Hope to meet up with you when you roll into Colorado. Of course I have to stay here, but hey.

That construction does suck - I got to do it 3 time last summer. Hopefully it will be better this summer. I do not want to sit in it again

I drove through Barstow/Victorville in January and IIRC construction was finished in the South/Westbound lanes - it was all in the North/Eastbound lanes. Hope for the same on this trip...

:( Bummer that we're not even to $3K - but thankful for what we do have...

Good News - :)

I just spoke to my Father, who drove through Barstow last weekend, and he said the construction is almost complete and the delays were minimal to non-existant.

 Should be smooth sailing for us...

Wow, that itinerary has you driving pretty fast
In order to average 79 mph, including all that city driving, you'll probably need to sustain 100+ thru the plains and deserts. Put that supercharger to work!

Seriously, though, have a SAFE and ticketless drive!

Damn freak rainstorms in Ohio. We're a bit behind schedule, about to enter Toledo, OH. Still hopin' to hit Iowa City, IA by the end of the night.

People having crappy weather, update us. So we know to plan ahead. :p
