I'm new to the Passat forum. Have a 2012 VW Passat TDI for over a year now and really like it. The rear driver side tire is making noise on the highway, like its out of balance. Had balancing checked and tires rotated front to back at my most recent oil change. After about 1,000 miles the tire now up front is back to normal but the one now in back is making noise. In looking at the tire, it has a noticeable uneven wear pattern on the inside edge. The attached pic shows black where its not making contact with the road like the rest of the tire. Tires still have plenty of life in them so don't want to get rid of them yet. Plus, need to figure it out before getting a new set anyway so it doesn't do the same. Any suggestions on what the cause might be? Only doing this on the drivers side rear.

My B6 had a similar problem, albeit a bit worse than yours, and it turned out to be a bent control arm from a previously undisclosed meeting with a curb. Tried to have it aligned twice before I realized that was what was going on. Took it to a real shop not just NTB and they found the problem right away. Hoping in your case it's not that bad but it's worth a check. Good luck.

Yep. Get the suspension and alignment checked.
