I have a 2014 Volkswagen Passat, Diesel, I with duel - drivers side and passanger side temp controls. Last night I noticed that the front vents drivers side was blowing hot air and the passagner side was blowing cold, even with both temps set to HI. I also noticed it with the defrosters, drivers side would clear, but the passanger side with stay foggy almost split right down the enter. Turned it off and on, nothing changed, looking to see what I need to do or check.

Interesting... I've found this site as I have exactly the same issue. I see no one has offered any advice on this issue. Is there anyone here who has had this problem and can comment??

Might be a blend door issue in the HVAC system.

Most likely you have to change the heat exchanger
Since these have dual zone climate control, it cannot be that in this case. It is likely a blend door/flap issue in that it is open on one side of the car to heat and not the other. The heat exchanger (heater core) is a single unit and the duct is then split to either side after that; controlled by flaps.
