Door is stuck shut. I can not open from the inside. I can not open from the outside. Electronics appear to be working. Door latch/lock seems to be stuck.

What shall I do to fix it myself? If I cant, anyone have an idea on the approximate cost?

Yeah, just got done taking the whole door apart and putting back together. (But pictures would be nice.)

Solder was cracked on the board and there was some corrosion. We re-soldered and put back together. It was working fine, then it crapped out.

Anyway I can fix it?

did you check to see if all the linkages are where they should be? and attached?I don't think this is an electronic problem.
Jetta's did this all the time.

I recall reading bout a similar problem - had to do with the little cable on the outside handle being too tight. Try pushing against the outside handle so the door can completly latch, thus allowing it to be unlatched.

That is kind of the problem Scott (linkages).

The inner metal panel/covering is still on the door. Can you suggest any way to get at the linkage other then breaking that metal panel?

Update: I actually got it to open by striking below the handle and jarring the latch (causing it to open). WD-40'd it. Will give more details later.

(maybe with pics).
