yep, will do such an installation on my 2000 1.8T too. The part number that you need from the dealership is: 3B0 998 527 A
cost is around 90 USD for this kit and although this is supposed to be for the TDI engine, it will fit just fine as I have been told.
after installing it (steering wheel off, a few wires etc to connect) you will have to enable cruise control using VAG COM tool.
The dealership here in Estonia asked around 400 USD for the part + labour....
