Dependable Auto Shippers are good and cheap if you buy their ROCK BOTTOM package. They get EXPENSIVE if you add on options (mostly fluff).

Holy sh!t. That's amazing. That's almost 3000 miles in 48 hours. That means he drove for 48 hours straight at 65 miles/hr or better.

I'm shipping my car in March through www.a1-auto.com. $630 from NY to CA. All taxes and insurance fees included in that price. Many other places gave me quotes of $800 to $1500. Decided to go with them due to excellent customer service on the phone. Also had a few $500 offers but they didn't include tax or insurance with that quote.

I know who NOT to go to.

1) AA Advantage Auto
2) National Auto

My car came from CA to DE fine, but just took them ~35 days to do it. Oh! and they charged me $900. I spent another $800 on rentals meanwhile. These companies are listed in Better Business Bureau (sp?) as definite NO.

Don't go cheap

Don't for a second hesitate to pay the extra cost to guarantee that your car will be picked up by a specific date. If you don't do this, your at the mercy of when they contact someone to pick your car up. There are a bunch of class action lawsuits in process right now because of this.

After seeing the way some of these haulers drive cars up on their trailer I would NEVER use one. I've seen many clutches burning. I had to pick up a car in Georgia (1,000 miles away) and ended up flying to Atlanta, renting a truck and trailer, and driving it back myself (go Penske, they are very cheap).

I've heard too many stories of the truck showing up with your car damaged. When the trucker was asked what happened the reply was "gee I don't know. But don't you have insurance?" So what!!!! Now my car is all damaged, I have to fight with the insurance company, get the car fixed, and hopefully it will be as good as new.

Not worth the risk.

My $0.02

I wouldn't use anything but Yellow. I've used some of the others and they're the most reasonable in price and never had anything show up damaged.
