i am looking into getting a new clutch because mine keeps slipping.
my 99 1.8T is approximately pushing 225hp and 260torque.

stage 2 clutch... but which brand? do i need a new pressure plate too? a new flywheel?

so far i've been looking at sach and spec. why is there such a price difference?

i don't race my baby, but i do love to feel the car pull when i accelerate.

I've had AWE Tuning's Stage 2 clutch for almost a year now. I'm very satisfied with it. Its rated at 300hp/300 ft/lbs. AWE is in Willow Grove, Pa. Not sure how close that is to Glenside. I went with an OE flywheel, but AWE has a lightened one if you prefer. More info at http://www.awe-tuning.com .

I 2nd the recommendation. Mike at AWE Tuning is a great guy and their clutches are top-notch. My car will be there next week for a Custom Performance Products Tie Rod and Control Arm install.

You might also want to give New German Performance in Aberdeen, Md. a call. They had a group buy of Spec Heavy Duty clutches awhile back.
