Is anyone encountering a haze around the chrome trim around the windows? Does anyone know of any wax that can take it off and return it to its original state?

This has been an issue for all the Passat's, all years...some dealerships will replace it under warranty and some will not. The chrome is very expensive to replace. Some here have painted it black or used black out tape...others have tried everything from peanut butter to mineral oil. It will never go back to showroom chrome shine without hazing again.

Here is the replacement chrome from Oempl.us just to get an idea of cost.

By the way...this question has been asked many, many times over...the search function is your friend.

X2 I'd suggest covering it up every time someone in CB5 says they have it fixed it seems to come back in a few months, plus I don't really like the chrome in the first place
