Hi. I must be stupid but I just cannot seem to find where I can check steering fluid level in my 2003 W8... Can someone point me in the right direction? Thenk you. I know HOW to check PS fluid in general, once I find where that damn thing is:) I get some noise on cold starts (high 40-mid 50s here, so, nowhere near freezing), typical for low PS fluid levels (from my previous cars experience). And, while we are there, what fluid to use if I find low level?

It is located basically aft of (behind) the driver's side headlight.
On our cars (W8) there is a plastic panel that covers that side.
Remove that black vanity cover, and it will be just in front of the windshield washer fluid reservoir (W/W fluid resevoir is opaque w/ blue cap).
The P/S reservoir should be black and have, I think a green cap.
It has the usual stem type gauge w/ Min & Max lines.
If COLD - 2mm+/- w/in Min mark.
If HOT/ Operating temp. - between the lines.
Use only VW fluid (VW G002 000 or G 002 012).
