If you are talking about the Vehicle Identification Number, it can be found in a number of places:
Driver's side B-pillar
Stamped on the plenum chamber
Sticker in spare tire wheel well in trunk
Driver's side top of dash
Sticker in owner's manual
On your vehicle title / registration
On your insurance certificate
nope, they actually are not, to my knowledge.
i'm guessing that it might be on the sticker in your driver door.
not 100% sure though.
why do you ask? i can't imagine what you would need it for.
The chassis number is part of the Vehicle Identification Number. It's simply the last 6 digits of the VIN. If you look at the link above you will see a reference to VIN and chassis number and that you enter the serial number of your car in the last field. Also, here's another explanation. http://www.germanautoparts.com/linked/vwchassisdetail.html
