[Bugger561]

I'm looking to purchase a 2002 4 cylinder. After searching around, I've come around a 2002 B5.5 that looks and drives pretty well (albeit with ~180k miles) . However it had a missing door and exposed wire coming out of the back of the center armrest's base. The seller is not the original owner and cannot tell me what was there.
I'm wondering what it was, any ideas and estimates on repair?

There was an ash tray there, with a light inside. My daughter's bookbag has been a little hard on mine. I'd just insulate the wires and call it a day.

I'll presume you're aware of the oil sludge issue with the 1.8T engine--has the owner been using VW Spec 502.00 full synthetic oil?
