I ran into this same issue for my 04.5
Variant. 500 bucks is crazy.
It is very high quality, but come on....

So, my solution was a "Pet Baricade" at PETCO for around
$80. It works really well. I am actually very impressed with the
build quality, ease of installment and removal, and mostly,
how it doesn't ruin my car ceiling. So far, it has been great.
I truly suggest it.

In my research, there are no discounts on this product, anywhere.
However, that was about 3 months ago.
