Can they do this? (ticket question)

On my way to waterfest last year, I got a ticket when driving through Ohio. I figured it was no big deal, as I am from Illinois, so I just paid it and expected that it wouldn't affect my driving record here. A couple of months ago I got another ticket for driving in the wrong lane (conservation officer got me in the state park, which has no lines painted on the road). Once again, I paid the ticket and figured it was no big deal. But then I get a notice in the mail telling me my license is suspended for one month?!? (I was under 21 at the time of both tickets, and Illinois has a great new law saying they will suspend your license for 2 convictions in 2 years if you are under 21).

Everyone I know has been under the impression that out of state tickets don't go on your home state record, so this changes everything. But I'm just venting; the idea of not being able to drive my passat for an entire month is pretty horrifying/depressing. This state sucks.

It's been this way for many years in CA regarding out of state tickets. I'm pretty confident that all states exchange information now, perhaps Nevada or New Hampshire may not, since they be outlaw states.
Its reciprical agreeements. Some states with some states. For example, I got 2 speeding tickets when I first moved to ohio at age 16, kept my PA license till I was 18, and nothing happened. PA will send info to ohio, but ohio doesnt to PA. Sorry man, but you lucked out.
My moving violation in IN was relayed to the Secretary of State's office in IL within 3 months.

IL and IN have a nice working relationship. You should hear the state troopers sharing info on cars at the border crossings during firworks season (it's legal to buy them in IN but illegal to buy or use in IL).
i wish NH didn't have reciprocity...
Wow, how lame is this. It's gonna be a long month...

about the ticket thing...

I got a ticket in wisconsin for doin 15 over ($230 fine) about a few months ago, and my insurance premium or anything hasn't changed so I'm thinking that the WIS tickets don't matter in Illinois, but not sure.
