The clutch on the A/C on my 2000 B5 V6 gave up the ghost a couple of years ago, and now the pulley bearings sound like they're going to give up too. I don't want to replace the clutch or the compressor, and would like to bypass the A/C pulley entirely with a shorter serpentine belt. Has anyone done this? Where could I get the shorter belt? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The shorter belt should be available at an auto parts store. You just need to measure the belt without it running on the a/c pulley. Belts are measured by the number of grooves and the length.
