I would like to replace the brake system in my 1999 variant to something a little bigger. I've heard the a8 is a cost-eff. way to go, but I don't know.
Does anyone have insight on this??? I used the info forum and nothing to my like. Reason is later down the road I'd like to upgrade to a k-04 turbo.

there are brake upgrade kits:

you can upgrade the rotor diameter, and also the calipers, and you can change the brake hoses to stainless steel lines.

if you upgrade the rotors, you won't be able to run the 15" stock wheels.

What Dan(D.Passat00) gave you as a link is good, but if you want more bite and bigger rotors then go with these:

With these you keep your stock calipers and just get bigger rotors, form either a 11" or 11.3" stock to a nice big 13.1" rotor

Also get the PBR ceramic brakes are a great buy!

Well technically 16" wheels are the most practical. Large enough to clear the A8 upgrade, lightweight, cheap rubber, large enough to fit performance tires on.
