I have a 1993 b3 passat glx and i have a problem with the brake switch after changing master cylinders and now i have a huge space between the brake pedal and the brake switch (enough to stick my finger between) and now it doesn't turn off the brake lights. Is there an adjustment or something else i can do to fix this problem.
If you didn't replace the switch you need to adjust your pedal back to the correct angle/distance as before. If you changed that distance at all when remove the MC, then the pedal should feel really high compared to before. I believe the brake pedal should end up about 20-25mm higher than the gas pedal to avoid accidentally pressing one or the the other.
If that is not the issue, try to pull gently on the plunger piece of the switch to extend it. Give yourself about a 2mm gap between the plunger and pedal.
