So dig this, last night around 11:00 on a whim I decide to check the local classifieds for 18in wheels. I google '18in wheels Calgary' and what comes up? This guy had a set of Enkei wheels from his Passat that he decided to sell. I phone him up and ask if they're still there. He says yes, but he's leaving tomorrow morning for two weeks. I said I'll pick them up now, he says sure. So here I am running out at midnight to pick up a set of wheels. Get there and negotiate a little and I walked away with them for $700. :D:D:D

Here she is:

And here's her war face:wrench:

damnnn, like the wheels, but that wheel gap in back...woof. :poke: ;) Crazy late night buyer.
Good no law enforcement saw money change hands. Would have been tough to explain. They would not have bought the wheels as items of sale.

Car looks good
Looks good. I like black wheels, I have a set on my girl and she's Mojave Beige (er, Gold). Mine are Enkei as well.

That could be quite true :)
Please get rid of the orange frontlights....otherwise, clean and beautiful!
leave him alone. He's just showing of his wheels. Nice find, BTW
Awesome! That's a good deal. It was worth the late night drive. Your rear suspension doesn't look like it's settled, you must have hit a bump or a pot hole or something and became unsettled.
that spoiler looks like the ones on the 99 neons.

The gap in the back is on account of the FK lowering springs. If you look at the first shot vs the third the gap really isn't huge, but it is noticeable. For some reason they drop the front 10-15mm more than the back. It's just the way they came. Having the front center of gravity low like that seems to work wonders in the handling department though. One thing I have to do though is pull the wheels off again and replace the plastic hub centers that came with the lug kit and put in some metal centers. The plastic ones don't let you torque things down properly. The only thing I have left to decide is whether or not to smoke the tail, side and front signals. Admittedly it would look great. However do I want to give an officer who's having a bad day a reason to issue me a ticket? Also, anyone have any input on either tinting spray or plastic coating? I'm a little leery of both but I don't have the funds to buy a set of proper smoked lenses.

Tisk tisk, everyone's a critic ;)
i was not criticizing. I was just curious to know if it was from the neon cus it sue looks nice
It looks good, but I'm not a fan of stickers on a car. I think bumper stickers are tacky.

Nice ride.

Don't worry, no offense taken, I just felt like being a smart ass. As for where it came from, I have no idea. It was installed before I got the car. Also, I got a quote from a tint shop. They'll do all the lights other than the headlights for $99. I'm going to hold off for a couple of weeks until I know what my financial situation is looking like. But it is going to be done, legal or not. I also plan on painting the VW emblem clearcoat black as well. I figure it'll look good.

Shhh, she may hear you and blow an oil cooler gasket again :D.
Look, this is my gap in the rear and I just have aftermarket shocks and lowering springs.

Looks to me like the gap is pretty close on both ends. Although I'm not quite sure if you mean that there is a gap or not. Like I said earlier the gap on mine is a lot more pronounced when you look at it from the rear quarter. If you look at it from the side or front it's not really that noticeable. I have to say though, I like the bumpers and side skirts on yours. I've debated putting them on. However, I know that sooner or later something will happen that will crack the front lip and I'll have an aneurysm. However, there's a lot of things that I've done with this car that I said I wouldn't, so who knows. Bottom line though, I have to say of all the black B5's I like what you've done the most, good job man. :salute:
Whats this i hear about wheel gap?

Car looks good, i love seeing the old school orange marker lights , rims look very good and nice deal on them
