I have a 2004 B5.5 with stock headlights and was thinking is it possible to retrofit the OEM headlights with bixenons (the ones with the lens in the outer edge) and is it worth it? Also should there be any other modifications to the wirings or is it all plug and play and what kind of bulb does it take because I plan on swapping it with LED as I never have had good experience with xenon bulbs and ballasts..Thanks

Depends on what you get.
W8 bi-xenons are different (bigger plug, more pins.) ECS used to have an adapter harness for that; I don't think that it's available anymore.

If you can score a set, Euro bi-xenons are plug and play. I have a set in mine. Fantastic lights (which were improve greatly by simply replacing the bulbs. Yes, even an HID loses output as it ages.) Very nice upgrade.

Given that you're, well, in Europe, those lights should be a lot easier for you to find, than they were for me.
Just make sure that you get the correct drive-side lights - LDH and RHD lights have very different (basically, reversed) light patterns.

Yeah there is basically no chance on finding a w8 here so I will have to find euro ones as yes I am in europe. So all functions will work right (self adjusting in startup, bixenon function)? Also do you know which bulb does it fit for the low beam which is also high beam

That's the difference between the two - the Euro bi-xenon doesn't have level adjustment motors in it (that's how it's plug-n-play on a U.S. car.)
Now, if your car has level adjustment, they won't plug in.

Bulbs are D2S, and H7.
