Hi All. I did the 17Z Brake conversion on out 01 B5 Passat. FWD 5 speed.
Designed my own rear brackets out of plain flat steel.
Used Volvo T5 front 330mm rotors.
07 VW Touareg Front and rear calipers
Audi B7 rear rotors.
WilWood Parking pals.

To Mount the front calipers I thread taped the Audi S4 cast iron uprights with a M16x1.5 tap.
Had to shave some of the casting seams off the uprights to clear the rotors, and about 4mm off the inner part of the Caliper mount points.
To fit the Volvo Rotors I used a drill press and opened the holes up to 19MM, the center bore of the rotor matches the S4 hub perfect and making the lug holes 19mm sets the studs right to the outside edge. My wheels are dirty lol. Reason for the pink calipers is I have my Daughters help me and they get to chose the paint colors of parts they help with.
I am running Rennline m14x1.5 comp studs and a 20mm spacer to avoid my wheel weights.

I will get some pictures of the install when I remove the wheels to put the right brake pads sensors in.

For the rears, I thread taped the calipers and shaved the outside part of the caliper mount about 2mm to center the caliper.
custom bracket I drilled to match the bearing hub, so it is mount inbetween the bearing hub and torsion beam mount.
Put a hole through the center so i can use my ABS sensor. My brackets are not pretty, but function very well.

Thank you PZ, It was a lot of fun getting it figured out and some frustrations lol.. I have seen several other post on this for big brake conversion. Everyone's approach is a bit different.

Wow good job, finally someone with upgraded rear brakes on FWD.
What about Master cylinder? Is it stock or upgraded?
Which size is rear rotors now?
And what about overall braking? Is it big difference in braking distance? What about front rear bias?
Sorry for many questions :D

Thank you PassatCRO, Was a lot of work to get it figured out, but well worth it! Master Cylinder is a Audi S4, I upgraded it a bit back when I put S4 HP2 brakes on our Passat.
Rear rotors are pretty big like 310mm to 320MM at 30mm thickness. The braking difference is amazing, and the bias is not upset at all. I smashed the pedal a few times and about hit the steering wheel lol. I had forgot to add that I had to make my own brake lines for the rear calipers and the factory brake cable fit the Wilwood parking pals.
