I always liked Chilton better, when I was young, and driving fairly simple cars. Now I have a few Volkswagen’s and I own the Bentley books for said cars. Here you go…

I actually have a Bentley Service Manual sitting beside me, that is begging to be put to use. It covers the Jetta, Golf, and GTI, 1999-2003, 1.8L Turbo, 1.9L TDI Diesel, 2.0L gasoline, and 2.8L VR6. Hit me up if you are interested!

Yeah I don't have 150+ to put down on the books right now damn this sucks
Well,
You could always go into WTB-WTT Section of this forum and post up a want ad for a Bentley Manual. There are people in this forum that either have multiple copies of the Bentley or have sold off their car and still have the manual laying around and may be willing to sell it.

Chilton / Haynes will get you a vast more knowledge and insight than having nothing at all.
The Bentley as mentioned before is much more finite with instructions and details.

What information are you looking for specifically?. The manuals sometimes don't include some information. I bought a manual for a Passat that didn't include information I needed, but the information on my specific Passat engine was included in an Audi manual I have from an Allroad I have...Strangely enough, the Audi manual didn't include the information I needed for the engine that was in it. You can usually find manuals at your local library too

I'm just trying to be prepared for any future problems that I might have and my Chilton manual was destroyed by bad weather just recently

Yeah a certain kind of (VW) understanding is required to cipher certain sections of the ETKA.
I can't speak for others but with myself I tend to take it for granted that not all people understand the ETKA catalog.
Even the name itself eluded me until I asked some guy at a dealer parts house what ETKA stood for.
