Bent rim question in NYC...

1410 Views 27 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  veedubyo
where can i fix a slightly bent Axis MOD Se7en rim. I let my father borrow the car and this is how he repays me-by rolling over a pothole and bending one of my rims   . Anyone of you know a reputable place in NYC to fix it. Its not bad,not letting out air or anything like that, but the fact that its bent and I know that its there. And if i do get it fixed, its not going to mess up the lip on the rim is it???
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :)

I'd like to know too. My konigs are hurting!
Well these guys are supposed to be one of the better wheel fixers...

http://www.rimpro.com/

there are some local places but for such a nice wheel as the axis ones.. i'd suggest going to the big boys!
Just called them up and for the cost of getting that small of a bend fixed and getting it refinished, and packing and shipping it. It would cost me cheaper to just get a new Axis wheel-LOL
I was just given some more local info....

Thanks JROO!!!
poor freddies in jamaica queens
I heard bout that place,is it any good???? thats the one on merrick and francis lewis, right??
www.fixrim.com . . . . not very good. There's a reason why they're $110 flat. A rim I sent out ended up with a poor finish and the bend was never fully repaired. Ended up getting my money back through the CC company i paid with.

What's kinda funny is that they've stopped taking CC payments at different locations. Guess too many people were getting their money back.

Dave
which location u sent it out to crew217?
i did it with a CA location. However after reading posts on AW . . . . the place in NY is worse.

I think the FL location might do a decent job . . . i haven't found any complaints about that place.
well I've heard that two members of clubb5 have gone there with no problems... actually I believe it was 3.

so hearsay is hearsay...

I guess you didn't read my post . . . . people have actually USED these places and have found problems with them. That's not hearsay . . . . geez . . . . what's the whole point of reviews then?
my mention of hearsay... is that you have heard and I have heard.. but we haven't actually gone to the specific place that is here in NYC.

Why don't you just slap on some wanli tires and cut your springs . . . i guess you don't know if they're good or not since you don't place any value on what others say.
Because I know of 3 members on clubb5 that haven't had problems... and you have heard just the opposite...

so the key thing... why do you have to argue a moot point...

so what was your point? if your opinion is as worthless as mine, why bother being an asshole about it?

I hardly doubt that you can deny the people on AW that have posted their firsthand experiences with this company.
I digress... atleast I gave this guy options...
