Hello,

I've just got a quick question. I'm looking to replace a rear wheel bearing, and was wondering if vcds is needed for the electric parking break to just to the bearing. I'm not doing any brake work, so it would just be the caliper being removed from the rotor.

I hope I explained the concern well enough for someone here.

I believe that it’s possible. I would disconnect the battery once the parking brake is disengaged before removing the caliper, and reconnect once everything is back together to avoid any problems from unintentional cycling.

Awesome, thank you. I was thinking the same thing, but was unsure with the EPB. Some forums were saying they were using VCDS, and some never mentioned it.
