I am really just curious on how many ATW owners there are. I hardly ever see ATW in refernce to anything on here. Do I have something special or unique?

Mine is a 2000 20V. It has the ATW engine inside. The ATW engines manufacture between 09/99 to 09/00, so it is only for the 2000 1.8T model. The re-designed 2001.5 model has a different engine code.

IIRC the ATW was also used in the 99.5-2000 Audi A4's.

I have it in my car. 2000 1.8t gls

Here's one more. I think the reason you don't see many references to us is because it seems like our build year is particularly reliable. Some reasons why you should be glad you have an ATW:

1) As pancreas said, no ICM problems or premature turbo failures like the early B5's.

2) No catastrophic coilpack failures like the B5.5's.

3) No crush washer on the oil drain plug (no need to replace every time).

4) No premature control arm failures (not sure which cars have that, either early B5's or B5.5's?)

5) No faulty hydraulic timing belt tensioner like the early B5's.

Can anybody think of any more?

Yep, an ATW sits inside Petra's nose (our 2000 Variant).

Ditto. Besides vacuum hoses and temp sender,no problems under the hood. Just
need a chip now.
