My wife has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings Diesel. She is a Veterinary and carries a 1500lb box in the back. she does a good amount of driving on dirt washboard roads. She currently has about 90k miles and we have not had any problems with it so far [knock][knock]...... so is spending $3200-$4000 on an extended warranty for then next 50k miles worth it. The truck will hopefully be paid off next year. I know they are just a piece of mind, we are pretty smart about putting money away...we are looking at 2 years worth of piece of mind

any thought???

IMHO, ss long as you keep up with the maintenance schedule, especially for the transmission/drivetrain, you don't need the extended warranty.

Take the $4k and put it in the bank against some sort of catastrophic failure and when it doesn't happen, use it for a vacation. ;)

My wife's DD is an '06 2500 4X4 Hemi MegaCab and it has ~120,000 on it so far...

x2

If you go with the warranty, be sure it covers driving on unpaved surfaces.

Since it is used for "commerical" reasons, good luck with even finding one, let alone at that mileage that will offer decent coverage. Former service advisor here with miles of experience with extended warranties..
