hey whats up. i just am trying to figure out the problem with my install. h&r sport springs with bilstein sports all the way around. im getting alot of slop and bounce up front afterwards. almost like a bottoming out. i called a performance shop in c.a and the kid said something about my vin number being high and that i need the bilsteins with the adjustable perches up front, to make it ride right. how come h&r didnt know anything about this? how come the kid who sold me my struts didnt bother to tell me this. car rides like crap and the wife is highly pissed that the family car is screwed up till a later date. anyone running these adjustable perches , do they work? did you have the same problems i am having? just need to get it str8 or i'll be sleeping on ther couch for awhile.... thanx, levi

The adjustable perches are used to adjust the front ride height. It has nothing to do with slop or play in the suspension. If you are happy with your current ride height you don't need the adjustable perches. It's really not H&R's business to know this since it's the shocks that have perches, although you might take issue with whomever sold you the shocks if you aren't happy with your ride height. I don't think this is related to whatever suspension problem you're having and would recommend taking it to a shop for diagnosis..

I'm with Macabre. I have the adjustable bilsteins and the only thing the perch does is drop the front end about 0.25 inch to even out the ride height. There are other people who have the high VIN car with regular bilsteins and I haven't read where they were having ride problems.

you either have:

1. wrong springs
2. wrong struts
3. bad struts
4. something else bad
5. nothing wrong or bad, just don't like new ride

or any combination of above

it's just a small metal c-clip. use some needle nosed pliers to stretch it up and move it to whichever slot you want.

i know that i have got a problem to figure out. i haave owned & operated other lowered vehicles a nd its basically easy for the most part.i do all of my own work and would refuse to let anyone touch my vehicles . it'd be like a slap in the face but i think i have to get a suspension specialist take a looksy. i thougfht about bad shocks, springs but that doesnt seem to be the case and if all else fails i will just run a modified b5 with stock set up. hella ugly i knopw but it will have to be so until i figure out whats up. thanks for the info .

Is it possible that the bumpstops weren't trimmed, reducing the shock travel? I had to switch to the adjustables with my Eibachs to get a better ride height, but I never had a problem with ride slop.
