i'm moving to buffalo NY next fall for med school, are there even anyone that owns a passat up in that city??? i hope the weather there isnt terrible enough to destroy my car... :nervous:

My friend grew up in boofalo, said the majority of cars are Ford of all things. They resist the rust and all, but I don't know if it matters with us. My '04 came with a 12yr protection.

Wash it regularly and you'll be fine. In the winter I use Robo on the corner of Maple & N. Forest. Treats my car well.

I'm from Buffalo & I used to put up my good car after October...Not to scare you but it gets pretty bad & the salt they use on the streets will torture your paint,,Also I hope your not lowered because that will also hinder your ability to get around!!!

The winters here are only as bad as you make them, about 6 months of salt. I typically run my cars 10 years and 200K miles with only minor body decay. I do run them through an automatic car wash with a strong underbody spray monthly during the winter, but I'm not worried about a perfect finish either. If she looks good and runns well, that works for me.

Good all season tires or snows are a must

You'll be fine. You can even be lowered, just don't get coilovers. My full Eibach setup gave me no problems this past winter. Car washes are a must though!
