I had my stock flywheel resurfaced and am planning to reuse it in the car. Has anyone done this and what is your experience?

Also, does anyone know if flywheels are specific to the engine code it is used with? I saw an advertizement for an 18# steel single mass flywheel that was for an AEB engine only. When I inquired if it could be used for an AUG engine, I was told it could not because the AUG was drive by wire. I dont see why DBW should make a difference, but with VW, who knows. Can anyone shed some light on this subject.

I tried a couple of searches but did not come up with much.

TIA for you time. Ray

I would say resurface it only once, and then toss it. If its not done correctly it may become imbalanced and you dont want that! :nervous:

Thanks for the input guys. 20vvillian, I think I remember that you reciently had some bad luck with an AWE light flywheel. If that is so, what are you going to use next? Thanks again, Ray
