ya i have one doesnt really do much from what i can tell no real noticable difference and i even backed mine with heat resistent material

I don't think this would make a difference under the hood. The filter does not have a buffer to insulate it from the rest and it has no way to get cold air in from outside the engine bay. The only thing I would suggest to you short of putting back in the stock airbox with a highflow filter is to build a partition that sort of isolates the filter from the rest of the underhood heat.

Stock airbox with a heatsheild and a hi-flow filter. No need for that CAI crap unless you get a very large turbo.
